Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading Service runs in a Native App, which provides customers a fast, easy, convenient and secure way to get up-to-date stock market information and trade stocks anytime and anywhere through Apple mobile device (such as iPhone, iPad or iPod touch) and Android smartphone.

Who are eligible to use Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading Service?
Users who download the FREE Dah Sing Bank Securities Trading Service App from Apple App Store or Play Store may access the service. Dah Sing Bank securities account holders can enquire real time snapshot / streaming stock quotes and trade stocks after login. New to Dah Sing Bank customer has to visit one of the Bank's branches to establish securities account and cash settlement account. For customer who has maintained a cash settlement account, securities account can be opened either in branch or via Dah Sing Bank e-Banking platform (www.dahsing.com).

What mobile devices does Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading App support?
Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading App can be run on:

  • iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 8.0 or above.
  • Android smartphone with hardware requirements listed below(Except for mobile device using Intel Processors).

Native App is an application run directly in devices. Compared to Mobile Site and Web App, Native App only needs to update market information and data but not downloading the whole website information, which minimize the data usage. Customer may experience faster and more stable service.

Why do customers need to register the device(s) before login?
It is designed to safeguard customers' trading activities. Even if anyone knows the customer's "e-Banking Login ID" and "Mobile Trading Password", they could not login and manipulate the securities account in the device(s) not registered beforehand.

How do customers register to use Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading Service?
1) Download the FREE Dah Sing Bank Securities Trading Service Native App from Apple App Store or Play Store. Access to the login page and tap the "Register This Device" button to register the device.

2) Login Dah Sing Bank e-Banking platform (www.dahsing.com) via PC and click "First-time Mobile Trading Registration" under "Mobile Trading Settings" section. Follow the instructions to acknowledge the Mobile Securities Trading User Agreement, the Terms and Conditions for Registration of Mobile Device and the risk disclosures related to the Securities Services and Derivative Products ;

  • acknowledge the Mobile Securities Trading User Agreement, the Terms and Conditions for Registration of Mobile Device and the risk disclosures related to the derivative products ;
  • setup mobile securities trading password ; and
  • activate the Apple mobile device or Android smartphone as requested for registration.

How do customers login to Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading?
After customers have setup "Mobile Trading Password" via Dah Sing Bank e-Banking platform (www.dahsing.com) and activated the mobile device, customers can use the device to login Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading by input "e-Banking Login ID" and "Mobile Trading Password"

What should customers do if customers forgot their mobile securities trading password or the password is invalid?
Please login Dah Sing Bank e-Banking platform (www.dahsing.com) by PC and click "Reset/Change Mobile Trading Password" under "Mobile Trading Settings" section to enter a new password.

How do customers submit a trade order?
1) After successful login to Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading, please tap "Trade" section and then tap Buy or Sell button, input the stock code, order price, order quantity and select the order type. Finally, tap the "Continue" button to verify the order details and tap "Confirm" button to submit the trade order.

2) Customers may also tap the "Trade" quick access button at the top left corner of the "Quote" page or tap the "Bid" or "Ask" price on the same page, order details such as stock code, order price will be carried forward to the "Trade" page.  Customers may modify the order details if needed and fill in the remaining order details and then tap the "Continue" button to verify the order details and tap "Confirm" button to submit the trade order.

After submitting trade order, please remember to go to "Order Status" page to inquire the order status.

How do customers submit IPO subscription instruction?
After successful login to Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading, please tap "IPO" > "IPO Application" and select desired IPO stock for subscription. Follow the instructions to acknowledge the Terms & Conditions, the Disclaimer & Client Declaration and the fulfillment of eligibility criteria stated in the Prospectus. Input the application quantity and tap the "Submit" button to verify the application details and tap "Confirm" button to submit the IPO subscription instruction. Once the application is accepted, customers cannot amend or cancel it.

For each IPO stock, customer can submit only one application. Repeated application will be rejected.

When customers have successfully submitted the IPO subscription application, we shall send an email confirmation for customers to confirm the information. Also we shall send customers a daily statement for record.

How do customers get the real-time stock quote?
The Bank provides two types of Real-time Stock Quote Service including "Streaming Stock Quote Service" and "Real-time Snapshot Stock Quote Service". Customer may subscribe any of the services depending on their needs. Customers may subscribe the Real Time Stock Quote Service via any of our branches or login "i-Securities" and select "Customer Services" > "Real-time Quotes Registration" for online application. Please note that the monthly service fee of quote service will be charged to securities settlement account.

Do customers receive Stock Order Status e-Alert when the order is filled, rejected or cancelled?
Customers will receive Stock Order Status e-Alert via email or/and SMS if they have applied for the service.

Customers may visit any of our branches to apply or login "i-Securities" and select "Customer Services" > "e-Alert Registration" to register the service.

Is it secured to trade stocks through Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading?
Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading adopted the following measures to ensure customers' personal information and transaction details are secured when they are using the service.

1) Mobile Device Registration
Customers must submit their registration request of Mobile Securities Trading Service from their mobile device. Then they need to login the existing secure e-Banking platform to activate the mobile device before customers start logging in the Mobile Securities Trading Service.

2) Mobile Trading Password
Customers must enter their "e-Banking Login ID" and "Mobile Trading Password" everytime when they log into Mobile Securities Trading.  Mobile Securities Trading service will be suspended for 4 consecutive wrong password inputs. Customers may reset their password as mentioned above. An email notification will be sent to the customer's email address registered with our Bank after the customer has successfully reset his / her Mobile Trading password. If a customer has not registered his / her email address with our Bank and / or has not confirmed his / her email address registered with our Bank, he / she will not be able to reset his / her Mobile Trading password.

3) Automatic Time Out
Dah Sing Bank will terminate customers' secure online session after 10 minutes of inactivity. This prevents the unauthorized access by anyone else.

4) Concurrent Login Prohibited
Only single access is allowed at any one time for each securities account, i.e. the previous login, either mobile or internet, will be suspended upon login via another mobile device or internet.

5) Secure Socket Layer (SSL) & Strong Encryption (128 bit)
Secure Socket Layer and 128 bit encryption is employed to ensure confidentiality. All data and information transmitted between customers and the Bank through Internet is encrypted by using 128-bit encryption.

6) Multi-layer firewalls
The Bank uses multi-layer firewalls to prevent unauthorised access to the Bank's computer systems.

7) Email Notification upon System Login
An email notification will be sent to the customer's email address registered with our Bank after the customer has successfully log into Mobile Securities Trading Service. If the customer has not registered email address with our bank or has not confirmed his /her email address with our bank, he / she will not be able to log into Mobile Securities Trading Service.

What precautions should customers take to avoid unauthorized access to their Mobile Securities Trading?
1) Customers shall take all reasonable steps to keep their e-Banking Login ID and Mobile Trading Password used for accessing Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading Service safe, secure and secret to prevent fraud. In particular, they shall:

  • not disclose the Mobile Trading Password in any occasion or to anyone else including relatives, friends, Dah Sing Bank staff, etc.
  • avoid using easily accessible personal information as the Mobile Trading Password, such as birthday, HKID number, phone number, or similar numbers.
  • not use same set of User ID and Password from other internet sites.
  • not allow any person to use the Mobile Trading Password.
  • not record the Mobile Trading Password on any device for accessing Mobile Securities Trading Service or anything usually kept with or near the device.
  • not use the Mobile Trading Password for accessing other services (for example, connection to the internet or accessing other websites).
  • not write down or record the Mobile Trading Password without disguising it.
  • regularly change the Mobile Trading Password via Dah Sing Bank e-Banking Service.
  • change the Mobile Trading Password immediately if customers suspect that the Mobile Trading Password has been known by someone.

2) Always logout Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading Services Native App after the completion of the mobile stock trading activity.

3) Check what Apps are running in the background mode and stop unnecessary Apps running.

4) Regularly login to check the stock account balances, stock holdings and order activity.

5) Be sure to use authorized or official Apps from recognized suppliers on the mobile device.

6) Do not jailbreak, root or pirate the mobile device. The operating system must be legitimate and unaltered.

7) Keep the mobile device's operating system and Apps up-to-date.

8) Do not leave the mobile device unattended.

9) Enable the automatic locking function with a password on the mobile device.

10) In public areas, use the 3G network on the mobile device.

11) Install mobile security software, such as anti-virus and firewall software on the mobile device.

What should customers do if they could not access to Dah Sing Bank Mobile Securities Trading?
1) Check whether network signal is normal. If not, change location or use other internet connection method.

2) If customers cannot access with normal network signal, they are recommended to submit the trading instruction via the following alternative trading channels or call customer service hotline (852) 2828 7000 for assistance.

What is the difference between “Available Quantity” & “Total Quantity” under “Stock Portfolio”?
“Available Quantity” is the stock quantity available for sale while “Total Quantity” is the stock quantity currently held by the customer

For HKEx share
Total Quantity = Settled Quantity + Unsettled Quantity Bought – Unsettled Quantity Sold + Stock Movement
Available Quantity = Total Quantity – Quantity of the Pending Sell Order – Quantity On Hold*

For Shanghai A share
Total Quantity = Settled Quantity + Unsettled Quantity Bought – Unsettled Quantity Sold + Stock Movement
Available Quantity = Total Quantity – Quantity Bought Today – Quantity of the Pending Sell Order – Quantity On Hold*

* Quantity On Hold means those stock quantity being held and not available for sale due to physical scrip deposit under registration, physical scrip withdrawal in process, physical certificate kept in Dah Sing Bank, Limited or any other approved custodial agent(s) of the Bank and those stock quantity temporarily being held due to any other reasons.
