Useful Information Related to RMB Banking Services
RMB Deposit Account
RMB account holders must be individual customers who are HK Identity Cardholders aged 18 years or above
deposit RMB exchanged from Hong Kong Dollars or in RMB banknotes
Interest of RMB Savings Account will be calculated on the daily closing balance and paid monthly. The day basis for the interest calculation is 360 days per year.
For banknotes deposit, only RMB banknotes in denominations of RMB10, 20, 50 and 100 of Series 4 & Series 5 are accepted. RMB coins and other denominations are not acceptable.
Overdraft, cashier order and lending services are not available
RMB Checking Services
- Only applicable to individual customers who are HK Identity Cardholders aged 18 years or above
- Each customer is only allowed to open one RMB Current Account at Dah Sing Bank
- Interest of the RMB Current Account will be calculated on the daily closing balance and will be paid monthly. The day basis for interest calculation is 360 days per year.
- Daily aggregate payment amount for cheque issuance from RMB Current Account, to settle consumer spending payment in Guangdong Province (including Shenzhen), must not exceed RMB 80,000.
- Overdraft is not allowed for RMB Current Account
- Cheques are non-transferrable
RMB Exchange Service
(1) Type of Customers Eligible for Exchange Service
RMB & HKD two-way exchange services are available
Maximum exchange amount in cash per transaction is RMB20,000
Only RMB banknotes in denominations of RMB10, 20, 50 and 100 of the Series 4 & Series 5 are accepted. RMB coins and other denominations are not acceptable.
(2) Exchange through Account
Only for exchange between HKD & RMB
The maximum exchange amount per person per day is RMB 20,000 and this limit includes the total exchange amount via any channels (including branches, internet banking and phone banking, etc.)
For example, if customer needs to transfer HK$50,000 into a RMB account, he/she needs 3 banking days to transfer all the funds.
The daily limit for the exchange of HKD-to-RMB and exchange of RMB-to-HKD will be calculated separately. This means, within the same day, customers can exchange HKD into a maximum of RMB 20,000 and at the same time exchange RMB 20,000 into HKD.
RMB Transfer / Local Remittance Service
Customer can transfer RMB fund (1) to any account at any local banks for any purpose; or (2) to any third parties' accounts at Dah Sing Bank
Outward remittance service will be provided from Mondays to Fridays. No services will be provided on Saturdays, Mainland Holidays and Hong Kong Holidays. For the service hours, please contact our branch staff.
RMB Outward Remittance Service
Provide outward remittance of RMB funds to Mainland China accounts
Remitters must be RMB deposit account-holders
Remitter and beneficiary should be in the same name
Maximum amount per person per day is RMB 80,000. If the aggregate remittance amount exceeds such limit, the remittance instruction will be rejected and the reject payment will be returned in full amount.
When applying for the outward remittance, customers need to provide the standard Chinese code of their Chinese names.
Outward remittance service will be provided from Mondays to Fridays. No services will be provided on Saturdays, Mainland Holidays and Hong Kong Holidays. For the service hours, please contact our branch staff.

General Terms & Conditions:
The initial deposit amount for an RMB savings account is as low as RMB100; the minimum deposit amount for RMB fixed deposits is RMB10,000. RMB Savings Account / RMB Current Account holders who maintain an average monthly balance of HK$5,000 or above will enjoy a waiver on the relevant low-balance account maintenance fee. The calculation for average balance includes the balances of customers' other accounts at Dah Sing Bank. For details, please contact our branches.
The initial deposit amount for an RMB Current Account is as low as RMB1,000. The daily consumptional expense in Guangdong Province(including Shenzhen) of an RMB Current Account must not exceed RMB80,000.
The relevant services are applicable to individual customers only. The daily limit for the exchange of HKD-to-RMB per customer is RMB20,000.
All Dah Sing ATMs and selected JETCO ATMs provide RMB cash withdrawal services. The services of RMB cash withdrawal via Dah Sing ATMs are applicable to Dah Sing Bank customers only.
When using Dah Sing ATMs, customers may choose to debit the amount from their RMB account or HKD account.
The handling charges will be levied for cash withdrawal via ATMs in Mainland China. The maximum withdrawal amount per day is RMB10,000.
Customer can enquire balance of HKD account at Dah Sing HKD Card and balance of RMB account at Dah Sing RMB Card.
Maximum daily spending amount is RMB 20,000.
The whole line of Dah Sing ATMs and part of ATMs with JETCO logo can provide RMB cash withdrawal. Customer can choose to debit RMB account or HKD account via Dah Sing ATMs. Daily withdrawal limit is RMB10,000.
The offer is applicable to the RMB deposit balance of Dah Sing i-Account or VIP i-Account or Character Consolidated Account. The above interest rate will not exceed the RMB interest rate offered by the RMB Clearing Bank to the Participating Bank in Hong Kong.
For details and terms and conditions of all of the above services and charges and other relevant charges details of the Bank, please refer to the Master Terms and Conditions and the Bank Service Charges of the Bank or contact the customer services officers of the bank. Dah Sing Bank reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions and/or terminate the above offers at any time without prior notice. In case of any disputes arising out of this promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and conclusive.
Risk Disclosure: Exchange of RMB to HKD or other currencies is subject to currency exchange rate fluctuation. Customer should bear the risk of RMB exchange rate fluctuations which may cause profit or loss if customer chooses to convert RMB to HKD or other currencies. RMB is currently not freely convertible and subject to conversion daily limit. Customer should allow time for conversion of RMB from/to another currency of an amount exceeding the daily limit.
